Sasabune has been one of my favorite sushi restaurants for the past 10 years. Yes, 10 years. A friend of mine took me there when it was located on Sawtelle in this hole in the wall type place. From that moment, I never ate sushi anywhere else (except Sushi Nozawa). I’ve tried everything and I love it all. I’ve even been to the one in Hawaii.
I definitely think that quality has gone down since he’s become more popular. I’m also not a huge fan of the new location or the cooked dishes he added on the menu, but I still go back..
